About Time (Poetry)

You never see me coming
you rarely see me go
I set idle fingers drumming
then I melt away like snow

Nobody can save me
I always slip away
you watch how I behave — see
how tomorrow’s now today ...

The clock your lifelong master
the countdown has begun
my hands are moving faster
however hard you run

The years are simply flying
so it’s foolish to pretend
for there’s really no denying
I will beat you in the end
