Apparition (Poetry)
09th October 2011
Flesh or figment? Fantasy or real?
The air around her glows with energy —
aura — halo — charismatic cloud —
her smile a charge of electricity.
A spotlight flashes like a ray of sun
homing in to hold her in its gleam,
while stars reflect their silver in her eyes,
the moon surrounds her with its jealous beam.
She is all love — ephemeral and bright;
she is all hope — near-blinding with her blaze
intense and warm, igniting beauty’s torch —
a beacon shining through these ugly days.
She is a thousand candles in the night
burning her soft image in its frame,
radiating light in purest form —
an apparition with no earthly claim.
And all are dazzled — all who see her, gaze
in recognition — know perfection’s face
shimmering — illuminated — clear —
and faith puts down fresh roots in virtual space.
