Beauty Plan (Poetry)
08th June 2026
I’ve been staring in the mirror
lately hoping there within
I’d catch a glimpse of beauty
worth the saving — so begin
to work at restoration
lift a crumbling façade
once-firm features all gone flabby
former firmness lumpish lard
It comes down to hiding damage
keeping wrinkles out of sight
this challenge to look youthful
get the warpaint blended right
Or ditch the stress and gaily pass
in gauzy veil to fool the glass
lately hoping there within
I’d catch a glimpse of beauty
worth the saving — so begin
to work at restoration
lift a crumbling façade
once-firm features all gone flabby
former firmness lumpish lard
It comes down to hiding damage
keeping wrinkles out of sight
this challenge to look youthful
get the warpaint blended right
Or ditch the stress and gaily pass
in gauzy veil to fool the glass
