Blue (Poetry)
02nd January 2012
I have gone into the blue now —
that blue the light so loves to touch
reflecting off of angles — passing through
that very particular sea that flows
around the coast of Crete.
Romance wears that colour — lives in it —
won’t be seen in any other shade
it sets the tone for the ideal —
the symphony of summer
a dream of sea and sky.
Blue circles the horizon
waits to dazzle like a smile
a natural dye that runs and blurs
the elements in one long lazy wash
applied to a living breathing canvas
by the gods.
that blue the light so loves to touch
reflecting off of angles — passing through
that very particular sea that flows
around the coast of Crete.
Romance wears that colour — lives in it —
won’t be seen in any other shade
it sets the tone for the ideal —
the symphony of summer
a dream of sea and sky.
Blue circles the horizon
waits to dazzle like a smile
a natural dye that runs and blurs
the elements in one long lazy wash
applied to a living breathing canvas
by the gods.
