Companionship (Poetry)

09th September 2012
Like trees we bend — withstand the storms
the bully-winds —the weight of snow
we stand together roots entwined
surviving all the world might throw.

We share whatever seasons bring
the scorching heat — the searing frost
keep trust and loyalty safe within
each Spring worth more than Winter’s cost.

Though saplings once — we creak with age
lean closer than in years before
bound by those deep unspoken things
and love unchanging at our core.
