Earth Child (Poetry)
24th March 2013
O hear me Spirit — am I not your child ?
I’m born of nature, prodigal and wild.
I come from clay — that elemental source
fired through with love’s sublime creative force.
So harken Spirit, answer when I call
don’t let words fade to silence — drift and fall.
I seek your wisdom — crave that energy
winging swift to touch the soul of me.
I’m earth and air, I’m stone and leaf and rain
I’m skin and bone — I feel both joy and pain.
My blood sings like the river in full spate
whose waters rise and lap an ancient gate.
O free me Spirit — let my vision fly
to every corner — land and sea and sky —
uncover truth and share in its release
and live a life content, blessed long with peace.
