Exploration (Poetry)
02nd December 2012
Lured by romantic vision —
a dream of ruined towers
washed by rain
I went deep into that jungle
hacked my way but feared
it was in vain.
Jealous of its secrets
green strangled each fresh foray
drove me wild
I lost myself in fever
screamed in sheer frustration
like a crazy child.
Directionless I wandered
marvelled at those things
beyond belief
explored the unimagined
diversity — the shape and shine
of every leaf.
At last I reached that empty city
as though abandoned only
yesterday
found its culture cold and meaningless
those tumbled stones had nothing
left to say.
a dream of ruined towers
washed by rain
I went deep into that jungle
hacked my way but feared
it was in vain.
Jealous of its secrets
green strangled each fresh foray
drove me wild
I lost myself in fever
screamed in sheer frustration
like a crazy child.
Directionless I wandered
marvelled at those things
beyond belief
explored the unimagined
diversity — the shape and shine
of every leaf.
At last I reached that empty city
as though abandoned only
yesterday
found its culture cold and meaningless
those tumbled stones had nothing
left to say.
