Feather Into Flame (Poetry)

08th June 2026
Hatched in hot ashes
the firebird rises
his plumage ablaze
he crackles to life
in sparks and flashes

Scarlet surprises
aglow in the haze
small flames running rife
leaping and burning
flickering, curling

the newborn phoenix
spitting and smoking
coals overturning
feathers unfurling
eager to preen its

fable-evoking
fire-tailed arrival
forged in some furnace
with elements bright
in molten display

Fancy’s revival
Winter’s dream burnished
conjured from firelight
such birds burn away
to ash crumbled grey
