Mirth was your business
sheer silliness too
this wasn’t the end
we’d imagined for you

We thought you would leave
with a quip and a joke
or some impromptu line
as befits a good bloke

We remember the Seventies
wish we were there
with the songs and the humour
mad clothes and big hair

We’ve been watching The Goodies
all over again
we still find it funny
and vaguely insane

So it’s cheerio Tim
we’d just like you to know
we are sad that you’ve gone
you put on a good show
