Home is Where... (Poetry)

04th September 2007
Home is where the flak is flying
Home is where the kids are crying
Parents shouting, neighbours sighing
Home is

Home is where they sit, unsmiling
And divorce is close to filing
While the unpaid bills are piling
Home is

Home’s no more than bricks and mortar
Insulation, wiring, water
Home is where frayed nerves grow fraughter
Home is

Home’s a roof — a place to stay in
Home’s a castle dreamers play in
Walls that crack and let the day in
Home is

Home is rooms of clutter spilling
Home is silence, lonely, chilling
Home is heartless in its killing
Home is.
