Blankety-Blank (Poetry)

The Christmas fairy has blanked off
to who knows blanking where
some blank-blank stranger brought New Year
as if we blank-blank care

This blank-blank weather is enough
to drive you blank-blank mad
another blank-blank awful day
the mindset’s blanking sad

The news is blanking miserable
no sign of blanking hope
no blanking politician worth
a length of blanking rope

So what the blanking future holds
no one can blanking guess
the whole blank world is all blanked up
it’s in a blank-blank mess

Who cares? — a blanking waste of time —
ourselves to blanking thank
no form can save our blanking lives —
each box a yawning blank

Let’s face it — we are truly blanked!
the blanking game is done
all over — such a blanking shame
we lost the blanking fun
