If I Must Go (Poetry)

If I must go
                                as go I must
I favour sudden —
                                not slow rust.

So make it quick
                                and make it clean
decay’s unsightly —
                                cruel — obscene.

No cheating time
                                with nips and tucks —
Hell is wrinkles —
                                ageing sucks.
