Illusion (Poetry)
22nd February 2015
Bubbled beads of moisture
pepper-grains of sand
a fantasy oasis
blooms in Neverland.
Palms filter the sunlight
blinding blue the sky
reflected in the water
glassy as an eye.
Flowers flaunt their perfume
heady on soft breeze
wafting so seductive
a sweetness aimed to tease.
Scarlet — orange — yellow
so vivid amongst green
a miracle of nature
just desert inbetween.
Dunes stretch on forever
a burning empty sea
except for this lush island
glowing distantly.
Weary, lost and dying
a man begins to run
desperate for salvation.
The vision fades — is gone.
pepper-grains of sand
a fantasy oasis
blooms in Neverland.
Palms filter the sunlight
blinding blue the sky
reflected in the water
glassy as an eye.
Flowers flaunt their perfume
heady on soft breeze
wafting so seductive
a sweetness aimed to tease.
Scarlet — orange — yellow
so vivid amongst green
a miracle of nature
just desert inbetween.
Dunes stretch on forever
a burning empty sea
except for this lush island
glowing distantly.
Weary, lost and dying
a man begins to run
desperate for salvation.
The vision fades — is gone.
