No smoke without fire —
light the blue touchpaper
and retire — words fizz,
sparks fly. Stand back
and admire the effect —
observe the safety rules,
keep dry and turn
separate pages carefully
according to instructions.
Always heed the warning:
never return to a poem
once it’s been lit.
