Meaning:“Life out of balance” — Hopi Indian
Life was so simple once — I’m sure of it
there was a rhythm to my days —
a pattern running week by week
in gentle undulating waves.
But now it’s broken — fractured through
and the dark lords of chaos reign
emotions see-saw — hope rides high
and then dissolves to doubt again.
It’s too far gone to mend or save
love’s splinters pierce my naked skin
I’ve lost my centre — nothing fits
I can’t control the state I’m in ...
I look for calm — I long for peace —
a way of ordering despair
I marshall thought and grit my teeth
but I see ruins everywhere.
