Late October Twilight (Poetry)
24th February 2014
I never tire of this —
the late diluted light that slides
so subtle and so slow
behind the pines.
The mellowness that shines —
picks out a frond to focus on
transforms it into a green glow
an ember of the sun
sinking now the afternoon
has shortened close to autumn’s end
these days drawn in — dark circles round
puts quiet trees to bed.
the late diluted light that slides
so subtle and so slow
behind the pines.
The mellowness that shines —
picks out a frond to focus on
transforms it into a green glow
an ember of the sun
sinking now the afternoon
has shortened close to autumn’s end
these days drawn in — dark circles round
puts quiet trees to bed.
