Lord Of Light (Poetry)

There’s a light deep in the forest
and a glow in night’s cold sky
while a gust of wind brings singing
and the sense the time is nigh

The event they’ve been foretelling
that would surely come to pass
all the signs are there and clearly
He is on His way at last

All about an air of waiting
patient hearts that dwell on Earth
every ear intent on listening
for the moment of rebirth

Knowing Hope renews each Christmas
when the Spirit comes to cheer
and the gift of Love is given
as the Lord of Light draws near
