Making Do And Mend (Poetry)
16th June 2025
They are so forgiving — these trees
budding, bursting forth
as though nothing has happened
no bloody argument
with saw and chipper
no gross disfigurement
to try to mend
Instead they carry on
with the life they’re given
enjoy the sunny moment
stretch and bend
which ever way the wind blows
stand tall and proud
and wave the undefeated flag
budding, bursting forth
as though nothing has happened
no bloody argument
with saw and chipper
no gross disfigurement
to try to mend
Instead they carry on
with the life they’re given
enjoy the sunny moment
stretch and bend
which ever way the wind blows
stand tall and proud
and wave the undefeated flag
