Message From The Angel Of Light (Poetry)

17th June 2013
No more the drama of a sudden shaft —
illumination’s subtle, personal —
just now a small suggestive mini-bolt
out of the vast technological blue,
anonymous from some encrypted source —
does God e-mail all doubters in due course?

A two-line text, an extract on A4
equivalent of carving truths in stone,
with four-letter words — love, fear, want, must
                                and wish
sent by an angel somewhere on the net,
encouraging and oddly apposite,
a window opens, fills the room with light.

Pinned on the wall, a memo for the soul —
We all want to be loved... in ink-jet print,
black on matt-white paper substitute
for mountainsides and lightening’s strong point,
omnipotence displayed on new-age whim —
spammed by a member of His seraphim.
