Midnight's Faerieman (Poetry)

05th May 2024
I savour dreams of
some roguish faerie
a greenblood spirit
of the forest’s deep
who stirs my feyness

We dally nightly
intoxicated
his magic charming
my earthbound body
held captivated

He woos with garlands
of leaves for my hair
acorns and twigs strewn
across midnight’s stair
moss pillows my sleep

A soft-trickling brook
flows under my bed
smoothing its jewels
stones amber and red
frogs sing like princes

My lover has claws
his wings smother dark
each kiss a sweet sting
that telltales no mark
lips smile — nothing said
