Mistletoe Magic (Poetry)

She lingers underneath
making out that she’s
shy and unaware
no significance
in waiting just there

A little pensive
wine glass in her hand
listening to the
music of the band
watching him dancing

He never glances
in her direction
it seems his focus
and full attention
is engaged elsewhere

A soft sigh escapes
she takes wistful sips
the bubbles tingle
on her pouting lips
she closes her eyes ...

The effects of wine
cannot be dismissed
but she swears she felt
a passionate kiss ...
passed out with surprise
