Moon-Bather (Poetry)

14th July 2013
I’ve never been that close to love
I’ve seen it glitter from afar —
a warm extravagant pink star
hung tempting — high above.

I’ve glimpsed the magic in its rays
imagined how it feels to be
entranced — cocooned romantically
in bliss — live out my days

a moon-bather in cloudless skies
assured the weather will be fine
wrapped in adoration’s shine
from blue unchanging eyes.

I never seemed to generate
the magnetism needed for
passion’s beam to find my door
resigned — yet still I wait.
