My Darling Dove (Poetry)
17th February 2025
She’s here again — my darling dove
my feathered joy
my singing love
the dusk arrives borne on her wings
such mysteries her presence brings
So bright and bold her jetted eye
and softly wound
her lullaby
while two pink feet grasp tight my arm
so light her weight and sweet her charm
Each evening now she parts the air
her passage swift
beyond compare
this spirit-bird who comes to me
with gifts wrapped rich with poetry
my feathered joy
my singing love
the dusk arrives borne on her wings
such mysteries her presence brings
So bright and bold her jetted eye
and softly wound
her lullaby
while two pink feet grasp tight my arm
so light her weight and sweet her charm
Each evening now she parts the air
her passage swift
beyond compare
this spirit-bird who comes to me
with gifts wrapped rich with poetry
