No Matter (Poetry)

It doesn’t matter anymore
some say it never did
it’s hopeless looking for the truth
when they’ve got it well-hid

Don’s search for what you’ll never find
and fret yourself so pale
don’t be the fool who wastes his life
just chasing his own tail

It’s not important that you know
the facts about the case
somebody else will hush it up —
it’s really not your place

So never mind those idle tongues
that wag and make a din
far better buy a book designed
for mindless colouring-in

Now nothing matters — no one cares
it’s far too late to pray
“Peace” and “Love” are non-PC —
Big Brother’s come to stay
