No Probable Cause (Poetry)

Things don’t just happen
there has to be a
good reason for it
logic tells me so
yet I’ve no answers

So why keep asking
the same old questions
over and over
and still no nearer
an explanation?

Putting it simply
it’s cause and effect
which makes perfect sense
the facts known and all
things being equal

Except in this case
there’s a lack of facts
while I can only
imagine what went
on behind my back

So no one believes
I’m clueless about
the whys and wherefors
who would guess I did
not see it coming?
