Poem To Ease Stress (Poetry)
02nd June 2024
I’m searching around
for a poem to
send me to sleep — just
a couplet or two
suitably soothing
to relax my thoughts
encourage them drift
to lullaby land
bob on the ether
and float me away
I cast a long line
with a baited rhyme
and wait for a tug
I’m nodding the while
moon winks behind cloud
words swim among stars
composing’s so like
going night fishing
the bites far and few
dream nibbles escape
leaving a ripple
one silver echo
that wanders the mind
finds its true rhythm
to match the clock’s tick
for a poem to
send me to sleep — just
a couplet or two
suitably soothing
to relax my thoughts
encourage them drift
to lullaby land
bob on the ether
and float me away
I cast a long line
with a baited rhyme
and wait for a tug
I’m nodding the while
moon winks behind cloud
words swim among stars
composing’s so like
going night fishing
the bites far and few
dream nibbles escape
leaving a ripple
one silver echo
that wanders the mind
finds its true rhythm
to match the clock’s tick
