Rock Pools (Poetry)
09th August 2026
Mine for a brief summer scrying
those still deep womb-worlds
the more I looked
the more I spied
jewels scattering their promise
in September’s subtle light
small crabs hinting at fortunes
counting sideways
totting piles of stones
A glimpse of shrimps
near-transparent
gallivanting across
a cloud passing over
the mirror surface
fracturing sunlight
Sunken dreams
of an eight-year-old’s conjuring
awash with wonder
drawn to their element
absorbing through empathy
tales spun by salt water
those still deep womb-worlds
the more I looked
the more I spied
jewels scattering their promise
in September’s subtle light
small crabs hinting at fortunes
counting sideways
totting piles of stones
A glimpse of shrimps
near-transparent
gallivanting across
a cloud passing over
the mirror surface
fracturing sunlight
Sunken dreams
of an eight-year-old’s conjuring
awash with wonder
drawn to their element
absorbing through empathy
tales spun by salt water
