Rose-Tinted (Poetry)

04th November 2012
We’ve gorged on pure nostalgia’s pudding
each spoonful savoured — sticky-sweet
our yesterdays like myths from childhood —
mulled and cherished — obsolete.

Those memories that warm the cockles —
how we dwell and mourn their loss
linger over every detail
technicolour and emboss

until the past is all but fiction —
soaking in that rosy glow —
a wistful saccharine depiction
Truth mere dusting — light as snow.
