Sea Fever (Poetry)

04th December 2016
I’m drawn again to the grey-green sea
with its emptiness of sky
and all I take is a quiet heart
and my camera’s roving eye.

And I catch the light on the cliff’s chalk face
as the coastland greets the day
while the rolling tide sings a sailor’s song
and the air’s salt-kissed with spray.

It’s a love affair — it’s a passion strong
like a fever in the blood
and it tugs at me ’til I can’t resist
its ever-changing flood.

And those images that I take as mine
I save in memory of
those passing moments that define
the element I love.
