Simple Lust (Poetry)

I come to you
with no other expectation
than the slaking of desire

It is a thirst
I’ve nurtured now
unattended for some while

No other purpose
but for pleasure and release
my motive pure

So I tell you this —
make it clear it’s
just gratification ...

But should things change
and simple lust evolve
to something more

I’ll almost guarantee
our complex hearts
will disagree
