Snow Woman - Version Two (Poetry)

08th December 2025
I am a woman made of snow
a sorry creature bound in ice
the one life’s bitter blizzards know
who carved me cruelly slice by slice

I had a fire once at my core
volcano-fierce it seethed within
with molten passion growing more
resigned encased in frigid skin

As war raged hot, peace stretched out cold
that conflict blighted all my years
no hope in sight, worn thin and old
I shed a drift of blue/grey tears

A snow plough in the distance comes
my blood’s long-frozen bridal white
Death’s engine of deliverance hums
a spell for ending Winter’s bite

So I await the thaw’s release
my nerves recall how love once felt
and flesh remembers piece by piece
desire that made this body melt ...
