The Girl Of His Dreams (Poetry)
09th July 2024
His devotion was
abundantly clear
she was everything
he’d ever wanted —
his Ellen, his wife
Touching to see this
kind working class man
a builder by trade
modest and quiet
just living for her
She was no Monroe —
no curvy siren
never the goddess
not even in youth
the female divine
Nothing about her
to ignite passion
or so one might think
and yet it was plain
her Bill adored her
This short dumpy wife
his precious sweetheart
she shone in his eyes
left others to guess
where she hid her charms
abundantly clear
she was everything
he’d ever wanted —
his Ellen, his wife
Touching to see this
kind working class man
a builder by trade
modest and quiet
just living for her
She was no Monroe —
no curvy siren
never the goddess
not even in youth
the female divine
Nothing about her
to ignite passion
or so one might think
and yet it was plain
her Bill adored her
This short dumpy wife
his precious sweetheart
she shone in his eyes
left others to guess
where she hid her charms
