To Rot & Ruin (Poetry)

06th October 2019
We kept it sweet
we kept it simple
the lake stretched wide
without a ripple

We sailed through Spring
our summer drifted
the chill winds came
the season shifted ...

We ran aground
in mid-November
we shared the blame
if you remember

Both of us blind
to the storm brewing
wood bound to rot
and love to ruin
