Vanilla Moon (Poetry)

24th February 2013
My love you’re looking pale tonight — so wan
as though the cream has curdled in your heart
and left you listless — wandering the sky
trailed by sister stars while heavens part
to let you through — you drip vanilla tears
in magic pools to silver fish asleep
and see your face peer back unnumbered times
exhausted by each rendezvous you keep.

You seem so bored — indifferent to the tides
that you seduce and tug from shore to shore
while lovers lean from windows — watch you ride
on stallion clouds — enamoured even more
to see you frail and sickly — wafer-thin
and melting in the romance-hungry night
until the dawn undoes that frozen spell
and swallows your sweet tattered shrouds of white.
