Vintage Rosary (Poetry)

Bead by bead by bead
long years of comfort
counting the order
and keeping the faith
ingrained in this string
Dark metal — blue glass
who it belonged to
remains an unknown
yet something connects
as fingers proceed
to travel its length
absorbing by touch
soothing sensations —
deep tranquility
and unreserved trust
Soft light finds each bead
they glow like small lamps
ease doubt’s shadow back
those troubles that press
a world-weary soul
shed in due process
reciting by rote
decades of aves
communion sought
where harmony reigns
long years of comfort
counting the order
and keeping the faith
ingrained in this string
Dark metal — blue glass
who it belonged to
remains an unknown
yet something connects
as fingers proceed
to travel its length
absorbing by touch
soothing sensations —
deep tranquility
and unreserved trust
Soft light finds each bead
they glow like small lamps
ease doubt’s shadow back
those troubles that press
a world-weary soul
shed in due process
reciting by rote
decades of aves
communion sought
where harmony reigns
