Wedding Album (Poetry)

How quickly the day went
like flowers that fade
the costumes, the colours
our dazzling parade

From dawn until nightfall
the wine and the song
flowed sweet as a river
that rocked us along

From moment to moment
love’s spell captured all
the grand celebration
no detail too small

And it’s there in the pictures
bright-eyed in the frame
elusive — spontaneous —
too precious to name

It’s joy in a wedding hat
grinning so wide
the fun is reflecting
what glows deep inside

Such laughter’s contagious —
it’s spread face to face
each candid expression
puts truth in its place

All too soon the day’s over
our dancing is done
but caught by the camera
the magic shines on
